In Malaysia (or everywhere else, for that matter), money is king.
Money can give you political power. It also works the other way around in Malaysia.
Money can certainly buy you fame.
Money can't buy you happiness, but it can certainly buy lots of stuff to make you happy.
No wonder two nights ago, I dreamt that I won a million dollar lottery.
LOL on the works other way around part. did you read CheDet, or did you find out about it from the Star?
ReplyDeletei read CheDet. he says he is not racist, but actually he is. he says the Chinese own majority of wealth in Msia. Excuse me, the last time I checked, I don't have millions of ringgit in my bank account. If we are truly serious in eradicating poverty, why are APs given to people who are already rich? why should even house discounts be given to people who can already afford a house? doesn't freaking make sense, you know. all that crap about introducing English back as a medium of instruction is school is just political talk. wasn't it under his rule that we were to switch from English to Malay in the first place? if only people would realise that MM is just another typical politician - a liar, a hypocrite.
ReplyDeletei realized he was another typical politician last year. never trusted his words anymore.
ReplyDeleteanyway, agendas are probably to have a "fair distribution of wealth" among "races". no one actually mentioned anything about having everyone in that particular race better off. and the yardstick he mentioned was "corporate ownership" (or sth like that, i think) - which you and i know very well that poor people sure as heck can't afford stocks/bonds in a company. so well........... *shrug*
